Gravitational Theory

We explore the fundamental nature of gravity beyond General Relativity. Our work focuses on the ringdown phase of Black Hole mergers to detect Quantum Gravity effects, echoes, and 'hair'. We also investigate Black Hole thermodynamics and holography.

GW Data Analysis

We develop algorithms to search for Gravitational Wave signals in LVK data without assumptions on morphology (bursts). We are also upgrading pipelines for the Einstein Telescope to detect continuous waves and post-merger signals.

GW Population Studies and Cosmology

Using GWs to constrain the expansion history of the Universe. We perform Hierarchical Bayesian inference on compact binary populations to study dark energy, primordial black holes, and the underlying dark matter distribution.

Synergies with Electromagnetic and Neutrino Observatories

Studying the violent universe by combining GWs with electromagnetic observations. We focus on Kilonovae and Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) in synergy with future missions like THESEUS and HERMES, as well as Supernova Core Collapse.

Synergies with Radio Transients

Leveraging Radio Astronomy expertise for GW science. We work on Pulsar Timing Arrays (PTA) to detect nanohertz GWs, Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) cosmology, and cross-correlations with 21cm intensity mapping.
